National Apprenticeship Week

Mark your calendar for National Apprenticeship Week 2016 – November 14th through the 20th.

The Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is emphasizing the growing partnerships between the public workforce system, community colleges, and other stakeholders with Registered Apprenticeship programs.  National Apprenticeship Week offers leaders in business, labor, education, workforce and other critical partners the opportunity to express their support for Registered Apprenticeship and provides stakeholders with quality apprenticeships a chance to showcase their programs, facilities, and apprentices.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides a unique opportunity to build on these growing partnerships by ensuring these programs are on State and Local eligible training provider lists, allowing for the provision of WIOA training funds to assist in placing individuals into registered apprenticeship programs, and bringing these stakeholders into the planning process.

Your participation in National Apprenticeship Week 2016 is encouraged.   Let me hear from you on the unique partnerships being made to link our workforce system with apprenticeship programs.

It would be great to highlight your apprenticeship program in the Business Informer. Just send your information to me – Tammy Helbing – thelbing@nwgrc.org
